You can remove the engine left side valve rocker arm cover, the engine right side valve rocker arm cover, the upper and lower intake manifolds, the valve rocker arms and pushrods, the oil splash shield, the lifter guide bolts, the lifter guide, then remove the lifter(s) and clean and inspect the Valve Lifter(s).
Q: How do you remove the left valve rocker arm cover?
A:
You can remove the right engine strut mount bracket, thermostat bypass pipe, PCV valve, valve rocker arm cover bolts, valve rocker arm cover, and gasket, then clean the valve rocker arm cover and the valve rocker arm cover sealing surfaces.
Q: Can I loosen or remove the spark plug when the engine is hot?

No, you cannot. When the engine is hot, removing or loosening the spark plug will cause personal injury. You can loosen the spark plug, and clean any dirt and debris from the spark plug recess area before removing it.
