The proper way is to install the crankshaft balancer key into the crankshaft keyway, install the timing chain on the sprockets and align the timing marks, install the timing chain, the crankshaft sprocket and the camshaft sprocket, install the camshaft sprocket bolt and the timing chain dampener.
