A:
The proper way is to install the shock, reinforcement, and retaining nuts, install the upper shock absorber cover, the trunk trim, and the lower shock absorber retaining bolts, connect the Automatic Level Control air tube to the shock, install the tire and wheel and lower the vehicle.

01/11/2022Q: How do you dispose of the suspension strut?
A:
You can clamp the strut in a vise horizontally with the rod completely extended, and drill a hole in the strut at the center of the end cap using a 5 mm (3/16 inch) drill bit (gas or a gas/oil mixture will exhaust when the drill bit penetrates the strut so use shop towels to contain the escaping oil), remove the strut from the vise, hold the strut over a drain pan vertically with the hole down, move the rod in and out of the tube to completely drain the oil from the strut.
