Q: What should we do if you do not completely remove the bearing cup?
A:
You should lift the cross and insert J 9522-5 between the seal and the bearing cup you are removing and continue to press the bearing cup out of the yoke.

02/11/2022Q: What is the removal procedure for the external snap ring?
A:
You need to support the propeller shaft, mark the propeller shaft, disassemble the snap rings, place the universal joint, place J 9522-3 on the open horizontal bearing cups, press the lower bearing cup out of the yoke ear, rotate the propeller shaft, mark the orientation of the slip yoke to the tube, remove the cross, the remaining universal joint parts, inspect the retaining ring grooves and the bearing cup bores, and clean the retaining ring grooves.

A:
You need to support the propeller shaft, mark the propeller shaft, place the universal joint, place J 9522-3 on the open horizontal bearing cups, press the lower bearing cup out of the yoke ear, rotate the propeller shaft, press the opposite bearing cup out of the yoke, mark the orientation of the slip yoke, remove the cross and the remaining universal joint parts, inspect the retaining ring grooves and the bearing cup bores in the yoke ears, clean the remains of the sheared plastic bearing retainers.
