FAQ for Other Repair Info
Q: What is the removal procedure for the vehicle speed sensor (VSS)-4L80-E?
A:
You need to disconnect the speed sensor connectors, remove the vehicle speed sensor bolts, the Vehicle Speed Sensors, and the bracket assemblies, and inspect the vehicle speed sensor assemblies.
Q: Why can't I reuse the transmission fluid I use for flushing?
A:
The very fine metal and clutch material debris from the transmission failure in the ATF cause failures with the hall effect speed sensors that are used to measure the flow rate. To avoid costly repairs, expensive filters, regular maintenance, and problems caused by a partially restricted filter, the filter was not included.
Q: What is the removal procedure for the automatic transmission shift lock actuator?
A:
You need to disable the SIR system, put the shift lever clevis into the neutral position, remove the knee bolster, disconnect the electrical connector, pry the automatic transmission shift lock control actuator away from the steering column jacket assembly and the cable shift cam assembly, and remove the automatic transmission shift lock control actuator.
