You need to apply RTV sealant GM P/N 12346286 or equivalent to the top end of the oil level indicator tube at the joint and install the top half of the tube into the lower half of the oil level indicator tube.

You need to disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the air cleaner assembly, drain the engine cooling system, remove the air intake duct, the coolant recovery reservoir, the upper fan shroud, the fan clutch assembly, the drive belt, the Water Pump pulley mounting bolts and the water pump pulley, disconnect the radiator outlet hose and the by-pass hose from the water pump, remove the heater outlet hose, the water pump mounting bolts and the water pump and the gasket, clean and inspect the sealing surfaces of the engine block and the water pump mounting bolts, and inspect the threads.
Q: What should be noticed when using a spring-type clamp at the hose connections?

When using this type of clamp, install the Radiator Hoses on dry, non-painted surfaces to ensure proper sealing. Reusing the spring-type clamps on aftermarket hoses is not recommended.

You need to remove the air cleaner and the duct assembly, partially drain the coolant, remove the coolant recovery reservoir, disconnect the radiator hose from the Thermostat housing, remove the bolts attaching the thermostat housing to the thermostat, the thermostat housing, and the thermostat, and clean the gasket mating surfaces.
