FAQ for Brake Master Cylinder Bleeder Tool Repair

Q: What is the procedure if you have performed a brake master cylinder bench bleeding on this vehicle?
A:
The procedure is to ensure that the brake master cylinder reservoir is full to the maximum-fill level, loosen and separate the front brake pipe, allow a small amount of brake fluid to gravity bleed, reconnect the brake pipe to the master cylinder port, depress the brake pedal fully and maintain steady pressure on the pedal, loosen the same brake pipe to purge air, tighten the brake pipe, release the brake pedal, loosen and separate the rear brake pipe, and ensure that both of the brake pipe-to-master cylinder fittings are properly tightened after completing the final master cylinder port bleeding procedure.

Q: What is the procedure to reset the switch?
A:
The procedure is to install a proper box-end wrench onto the right rear wheel hydraulic circuit bleeder valve, install a transparent hose over the end of the bleeder valve, submerge the open end of the transparent hose into a transparent container partially, loosen the bleeder valve, have an assistant slowly depress and release the brake pedal.

Q: What is the procedure for automated bleeding?
A:
The procedure is to raise the vehicle to access the system bleed screws, bleed the system at the right rear wheel first, install a clear hose on the bleed screw, immerse the opposite end of the hose into a container partially, open the bleed screw 1/2 to one full turn, depress the brake pedal, release the brake pedal and wait 10 seconds for the master cylinder pistons to return to the home position, observe the master cylinder fluid level every four to six strokes of the brake pedal, install a scan tool, press the brake pedal firmly and use the scan tool to perform 3 consecutive ABS function tests., bleed all four wheels again, evaluate the feel of the brake pedal, and bleed the system as many times to obtain the appropriate feel of the pedal.

Q: What is the procedure for master cylinder bench bleeding?
A:
The procedure is to secure the mounting flange of the brake master cylinder, remove the master cylinder reservoir cap and diaphragm, install suitable fittings to the master cylinder ports and transparent hoses to the fittings installed to the master cylinder ports, route the hoses into the master cylinder reservoir, fill the master cylinder reservoir to at least the half-way point, ensure that the ends of the transparent hoses running into the master cylinder reservoir are submerged in the brake fluid, depress and release the primary piston, remove the transparent hoses, install the master cylinder reservoir cap and diaphragm, remove the fittings with the transparent hoses and the master cylinder from the vise.
