You should remove the access hole plug, insert a flat-bladed tool through the backing plate access hole to disengage the self-adjuster, insert another flat-bladed tool through the same backing plate access hole to loosen the adjuster screw, install the access hole plug to prevent dirt or contamination, apply a small amount of penetrating oil around the brake drum center hole, and remove the brake drum.

A:
You need to raise the vehicle, remove the brake drum, measure the inside diameter of the brake drum, position the J 21177-A over the linings of the rear brake shoes, turn the star wheel on the adjusting screw, remove the access hole plug in the backing plate, install the brake drum, tighten the adjusting screw, apply the brake pedal two times to center the brake shoes, check the drums again for light drag, install an adjusting hole cover in the backing plate, lower the vehicle, and check the park brake adjustment.
