You should clean the oil level indicator tube, apply GM sealant P/N 12345739 or equivalent around the oil level indicator tube 12.7 mm (0.50 inch) below the bead, then install the oil level indicator tube into the engine block, install the oil level indicator and the thermostat bypass pipe.

You need to remove the thermostat bypass pipe, the oil level indicator, and the oil level indicator tube.
