2001 Chevrolet Metro Engine Mount

You need to raise the engine to remove the weight from the mounts and to place a slight tension in the rubber, observe the mounts while raising the engine, replace any mount, lower the engine on the mounts, and tighten the bolts or nuts that secure the mount to the engine, frame or bracket if there is movement between a metal plate of the mount and its attaching points.

You need to support the engine, drain the engine coolant, raise and support the vehicle, remove the two bolts and the front pipe/catalytic converter assembly from the exhaust manifold, disconnect the oxygen sensor electrical connector, remove the two nuts and the front pipe/catalytic converter assembly from the resonator/center pipe, the hanger that supports the catalytic converter, the front pipe/catalytic converter assembly, the two hose clamps, the two bolts, the coolant return pipe, the two nuts and the rear engine mount connecting bracket, the three bolts, the nut, and the rear engine mount-to-engine bracket, remove the four bolts that hold the rear engine mount frame bracket to the frame, the rear engine mount frame bracket, the one nut and the connecting bracket from the rear engine mount and the one nut and the rear engine mount-to-engine bracket.

You need to support the engine, raise and support the vehicle, remove the retaining nut and the torque rod-to-torque rod bracket through bolt and washers, the four bolts and the torque rod bracket from the transaxle, one torque rod-to-torque rod brace bolt, the torque rod-to-frame through bolt and the torque rod from the engine.

The recommended torque is 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.).

You need to support the engine, remove the nut and rear engine mount through bolts from the rear engine mount, the two rear engine mount-to-bulkhead bolts, the rear engine mount from the upper mounting bracket, the two retaining nuts and the upper mounting bracket from the lower rear mounting bracket and the three retaining bolts and the upper rear mounting bracket.
