After aligning the marks made on the Pitman Arm, you need to install the washer and the pitman arm retaining nut. Then you can install the power steering gear and lower the vehicle.

After raising the vehicle, you can remove the cotter pin and the castellated nut, the outer tie rod, the prevailing torque nut, and the inner tie rod. Then you need to loosen the adjuster tube clamp bolts, unscrew the Tie Rod Ends, remove the tie rod ends, and inspect the components for damage. After that, you can clean the threads and the tapered surfaces.

After raising the vehicle, you need to remove the prevailing torque nut and disconnect the connecting rod. Then you can remove the prevailing torque nut, disconnect the connecting rod, and inspect the ball stud threads for damage. After inspecting the ball stud seals for excessive wear, you can clean the threads on the ball stud.
