Then you need to remove the actuator lever, the lever pivot, the lever return spring, the parking brake strut, and the strut spring. Then you can remove the parking brake lever, the brake shoes, the adjusting screw assembly, and the adjusting screw spring from the brake shoes. After inspecting all parts for discoloration and replacing all worn parts, you can inspect the wheel cylinder for signs of leakage and inspect the brake drum for scoring and machining tolerance.
