You can connect a Tech 2 to the Data Link Connector (DLC), turn the ignition switch on, select °Diagnostics° and input all of the required data to select the correct vehicle when prompted by the Tech 2, °Body° and then °Body Control Module°, °Special Functions°, °New VIN° and follow the screen directions to input all required data, and °BCM Reprogramming°.

You can remove the exhaust manifold pipe nuts, lower the vehicle, remove the spark plugs, the exhaust manifold bolts, manifold, and gasket, discard the gasket, remove the heat shield bolts, and clean and inspect the exhaust manifold.

You can push the top of the BCM up into the mounting bracket to install the BCM. Then, while holding the BCM up, engage the bottom Of the BCM into the mounting bracket slot, connect the BCM electrical connectors, install the left instrument panel insulator, and connect the battery ground (negative) cable.

It is not unusual for some codes to be shared across systems. For instance, there may be Transmission Codes under Engine Control Codes for purposes of diagnosis.

You shouldn't clear the DTCs unless directed to do so by the service information provided for each diagnostic procedure. All of the diagnostic data that was saved along with the DTC (freeze frame data and/or malfunction history records) which may be helpful for some diagnostic procedures will be erased from the memory when the DTCs are cleared.
