You can disable the SIR system. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Turn the steering wheel 90 degrees Remove a screwdriver into each access hole and push the leaf spring. Turn the steering wheel 180 degrees. Insert a screwdriver into the remaining access holes and push the leaf spring. Disconnect the SIR lead wire, the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) retainer, and the electrical connector. Remove the inflator module.
