The removal procedure is to drain the coolant to a level below the thermostat, remove the air cleaner assembly, then disconnect the ground lead from the coolant outlet, remove the bolt/stud and the bolt on the coolant outlet, the coolant outlet, the thermostat, then clean all of the parts and the sealing surfaces.
