You will need to make sure the wheels of the vehicle must be straight ahead and the steering column is in the LOCK position. Failure to do so will cause the coil assembly in the steering column to become uncentered which will cause damage to the coil assembly.

Q: What should be noticed when you check the capsules on the steering column bracket assembly?
A:
You will need to ensure that all must be securely seated in the bracket slots and checked for any loose conditions when pushed or pulled by hand. If not, the bracket should be replaced if bolted to the jacket assembly. If the bracket is welded to the jacket assembly replace the jacket assembly.
