Q: How to repair lock cylinders frozen in cold weather?
A:
While carefully avoiding damage to the painted surfaces, you should apply heat to the cylinder with a heat gun. Using a paper clip or a similar item, you should hold the door shutter open, and force air into the cylinders. While holding the shutter door open, you should inject small amounts of a recommended lubricant into the cylinder, work the key into the cylinder repeatedly and wipe away any excess lubrication from the key.
