The procedure is to remove the fluid level indicator, remove the front propeller shaft, remove the 4 nuts and the 4 bolts from the front differential pinion flange, remove the drain plug to allow the transmission fluid pan to drain, remove the transmission fluid pan and the gasket from the transmission, and then inspect the fluid filter screen for tears or other damage.

Q: What is the proper way to install the fluid filter?
A:
The proper way is to install a new fluid filter screen gasket and fluid filter screen to the valve body, install the new transmission fluid pan gasket and the transmission fluid pan to the transmission, install the transmission drain plug into the transmission and then install the propeller shaft into the vehicle.

A:
The proper way is to remove the 2 bolts from the rear Transmission Mount, remove the 4 bolts and the rear transmission crossmember from the vehicle, and then remove 1 bolt and the rear transmission mount from the extension case.
Q: What should be done to prepare the transmission cooler service?
A:
You should not reconnect the oiler cooler pipes after the repaired or replacement transmission is installed in the vehicles, remove the fill cap on the J 35944-A and fill the can with 0.6 L (20-21 oz) of flushing solution, install the fill cap on the J 35944-A and pressurize the flusher can, connect the J 35944-A discharge hose to the oil cooler return pipe, clip the discharge hose onto the oil drain container, connect the water hose from the water supply to the J 35944-A, and then turn ON the water supply at the faucet.
