You can place the shift lever in the PARK position, place the ignition key in the LOCK position, ensure the shift lever cannot move to another position, place the ignition key in the RUN position, place the shift lever in the NEUTRAL position, ensure that the ignition key cannot turn to the LOCK position, pull the cable connector lock back to the UP position, readjust the cable connector, recheck the operation, pull the connector lock button to the UP position, move the cable connector nose rearward, push the lock button down and reinstall the cable into the clips.

Q: What is the removal procedure for the front park brake cable?
A:
The procedure is to remove the left side instrument panel insulator, the left side carpet retainers, and the lower center pillar trim panel, fold back the carpeting, remove the parking brake cable from the park brake cable guides, raise the vehicle, remove the parking brake cable at the equalizer, lower the vehicle, remove the cable button end and remove the front cable.

A:
You can disconnect the battery negative cable, remove the console, place the transaxle shift control lever in the PARK position, turn the ignition key to the RUN position, slip a screwdriver blade into the slot, depress the cable latch, pull the cable from the inhibitor, remove the park/lock cable at the shift control, remove the cable retainer and remove the park/lock cable.
