You can tie the wire or string to the hood release cable, install the hood release cable, pull the hood release cable through the dash, install the grommet, install the hood release cable retainers to the engine compartment side rail and the upper tie bar, connect the hood release cable, install the air cleaner, install the hood release cable to the hood release handle, install the carpet back, remove the block, inspect the hood release cable for proper operation and close the hood.
