Q: How do you replace the plastic collar?
A:
You can relieve the fuel system pressure, grasp both sides of the quick-connect fitting, repeat for other fuel pipe fittings, blow out dirt from quick-connect fittings at both ends, squeeze plastic tabs of the male end connector, pull the connection apart, wipe off the male pipe end and clean or replace components/assemblies.

Q: What is the installation procedure for the metal collar?
A:
The procedure is to apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male pipe end, push both sides of the fitting together, pull on both sides of the fitting, reconnect the negative battery cable, inspect for leaks and install the fuel injection sight shield.

Q: How do you replace the metal collar?
A:
You can relieve the fuel system pressure, grasp both sides of the fitting, blow dirt out of the fitting, choose the correct tool from the J 37088-A tool set, insert the tool into the female connector, push inward to release the locking tabs, pull the connection apart, wipe off the male pipe end and inspect both ends of the fitting for dirt and burrs.
