You can bottom the piston into the caliper bore, install the two retainers and the pads, swing the caliper down onto the pads, lubricate the bolt and the bolt boot, install the lower caliper bolt, remove the wheel nuts, install the tires and the wheels, lower the vehicle, fill the master cylinder to the proper level, apply the brake pedal approximately three times and burnish the pads and the rotors.

The procedure is to bottom the piston into the caliper bore, install the two retainers and the pads, swing the caliper upward in position, lubricate the bolt and the bolt boot, install the upper caliper bolt, remove the wheel nuts, install the tires and the wheels, lower the vehicle, fill the master cylinder to the proper level, apply the brake pedal approximately three times and burnish the pads and the rotors.

You can remove one-third of the brake fluid, raise the vehicle, mark the relationship of the wheel to the axle flange, remove the tire and the wheel, compress the caliper piston enough for clearance, remove the upper caliper bolt, pivot the caliper body down, remove the brake pads and the two pad clips, inspect the caliper bracket boots, inspect the piston boot and inspect the caliper bolts for corrosion or damage.

You should burnish the new braking surface after the brake pads have been replaced.

The procedure is to remove one-third of the brake fluid, raise the vehicle, mark the relationship of the wheel to the hub, remove the tire and the wheel, push the piston onto the caliper bore, remove the lower caliper bolt, rotate the caliper upward, remove the pads and the two retainers, inspect the bolt boots, the piston boot and the bolt boots in the caliper bracket and inspect the caliper bolts for corrosion or damage.
