Q: What is the removal procedure for the V5-direct mount?
A:
The procedure is to place the clutch coil assembly on the front head, place the J 33024 over the internal opening of the clutch coil housing, align the installer with the compressor front head, install the J 8433-3, center the screw in the countersunk center hole of the J 33024, install the 4 inches through bolts and washers, turn the center forcing screw of the J 8433, install the compressor clutch rotor and bearing assembly, install the compressor clutch plate and hub assembly and remove the compressor.

A:
You can clamp the J 41790 in a vise, attach the compressor to the holding fixture, hold the clutch hub and drive plate assembly in place, remove the compressor shaft nut, thread the clutch plate and hub remover, and installer tool hub and drive plate installer into the hub, remove the hub and drive plate assembly, remove the shaft key and retain for reassembly.

You can install the J 39893 on the rear head of the compressor, connect the gage charging lines and the J 39500-B, pressurize the suction and the high side of the compressor, rotate the compressor shaft several turns, inspect for leaks, perform the measures necessary to correct any external leaks found, inspect for leaks again, recover the refrigerant, disconnect the hoses and remove the J 39893.

You should ensure that the clutch rotor and bearing are pressed onto the nose of the compressor far enough to clear the groove for the retaining ring.

You can remove the clutch plate and hub assembly, remove the rotor and bearing assembly retaining ring, install the J 33023-A, install the J 33020, turn the J 33020 clockwise in the slots, hold the J 33020 in place, mark the location of the clutch coil terminal, install the J 33023-A on the front head of the compressor, install the J 8433-1 and the J 8433-3 and tighten the J 8433-3 against the J 33023-A.
