About Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross
The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is a compact crossover SUV that was manufactured and marketed by Mitsubishi Motors in 2017. It was first introduced to the public as concepts of the XR-PHEV in 2013 and the XR-PHEV II in 2015. The production version of the Eclipse Cross debuted at the 87th Geneva Motor Show. It has a diesel variant which was released to the market in 2019. The PHEV variant followed and was released in 2020. The development of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross was based on the Mitsubishi Eclipse model. It adopted a Mitsubishi GS platform for production. The assembly lines for the SUV are at the Okazaki Plant in Aichi, Japan, and the GMMC in Changsha, Hunan, China. It is available in markets including Japan, North America, and Australia. The Mexican and Indonesian markets joined the family in 2019.
The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has the same wheelbase as the Outlander and Outlander Sport. In the United States, dealers can only get a 1.5L turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine for their powertrain parts. Other parts include a direct injection which is mated to a CVT and an 8-speed Sport Mode manual override. It also has a front 3-point strut tower brace and rear structural bonding. These allow the body rigidity to increase. The Eclipse Cross's stability and precise handling give great performance with the rigid body adding suspension. The Eclipse Cross has an electronically controlled four-wheel-drive system. This ensures the necessary amount of torque to the rear wheels depending on the surface and driving situation.
