About Mitsubishi Cordia
The Mitsubishi Cordia was a compact hatchback coupe manufactured and marketed by Mitsubishi Motors. It was introduced to the market in 1982. The production of the model was discontinued in 1990. It was one of the first vehicles of the company to be sold independently in the United States. The automobile was also one of the first mass-market automobiles to offer an optional electronic instrument cluster that used a liquid-crystal display. The name for the Mitsubishi Cordia in the Japanese domestic market was the Cordia XP. The assembly lines of the Cordia were at the Nagoya Plant in Okazaki, Aichi, Japan.
The Mitsubishi Cordia was given a choice of three engines for its powering parts. The choices included a 1.4L 4G12 straight-4, a 1.6L 4G32 straight-4, and a 1.6L 4G32T turbo straight-4. Other parts for the power system included a MacPherson strut/beam axle suspension, all kinds of automatic and manual transmissions, and front disc brakes. The engines could each provide 68 hp, 74 to 84 hp, and 112 hp for the Cordia. Some markets were able to have a 1.6L car-fed engine that could produce 110 horsepower. For the dealers in the United States, an extra choice for a 2.0L 4G63 inline 4-cylinder was also available. The 2.0L was able to provide the powertrain parts with 88 hp. The model was also given many different accessories to differentiate it from its sibling cars.

In 1983, the Mitsubishi Cordia received a facelift. Customers could choose an optional four-wheel-drive layout. The powering system was modified in 1985. A new 1.8L inline 4-cylinder and its turbocharged variant were introduced. They could each offer the Mitsubishi Cordia parts and accessories with 100 horsepower and 135 horsepower. The turbo offered only 116 horsepower in America due to the use of the lower 87 octane unleaded gasoline to meet certain regulations. The interior designs and accessories were also changed a little during the facelifts.
The Mitsubishi Cordia had 2 trim levels in the Australian market. The GSL was given the naturally aspirated 1.8L model and the GSR was given the turbocharged version. The GSR was given parts and accessories including a set of 13-inch alloy wheels. It was also considered one of the great performers in the vehicle market for its great performance and quality. The turbocharged vehicle was able to go through one-fourth of a mile in 15.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 200 km/h. This was very impressive for cars in its time. Cars of such performance need careful maintenance. If any replacement of the parts and accessories is needed during regular check, one could always find aftermarket and OEM parts of the Mitsubishi Cordia online.
