About Mini Cooper
Mini Cooper is a car series designed and produced by BMC and its successors from 1961 to 1971 and from 1990 to 2000. Initially, it was a result of the cooperation between BMC and Cooper Car Company, and new models have been designed and made by BMW since 2000. There are in total 7 types of Mini Cooper models up till now, two of which were owned by BMC, and the rest belongs to BMW.
In 1961, The Austin Mini Cooper and Morris Mini Cooper were released, which was the beginning of the series. They were equipped with a stronger engine which had a capacity of 997cc and a power of 55bhp. Also, its appearance was pretty impressive among the small cars, containing front disc brakes and a closer-ratio gearbox. A stronger type was launched in 1963, known as the Cooper S. Compared to the former model, the Cooper S had a stronger engine and larger disc brakes, and had a better performance in tuning. The design ended in 1965, but the production did not stop until 1971. In 1991, a new type called RSP was released which announced the return of the series.

From 2001 to date, BMW has been accountable for the series and has released 5 models of the Cooper. Mini Hatch was the first one introduced in early 2000 and had two improved generations in 2006 and 2014. There are three styles of car bodies, including a 3-door hatchback, a 5-door hatchback (only third generation), and a 2-door convertible. All types are equipped with a front engine and are driven by the front wheel. The engines of the first two generations are 1.4L or 1.6L, while the engine of the third has three levels, including 1.2L, 1.5L, and 2.0L.
Mini Clubman is another model released in 2007, and a commercial version, Clubvan, was introduced in 2012. The second generation appeared in 2015. Compared with others, this type has a more versatile utilization because of its larger space, and its handling is sharp and accurate. The SUV model called Countryman, or Crossover in Japan first launched in 2010, and the improved version came in 2014 and 2017. All types have the powertrain of 6-speed manual or automatic, and the second generation in 2017 even has the choice of 7-speed DCT and 8-speed Aisin AW F8F35.
The last two types of Mini Cooper model are Mini Coupé and Roadster, as well as Mini Paceman. For the former type, it only existed between 2011 and 2015, but it still has the merit of sharp handling and great fuel economy. It is its impressive appearance that makes it distinctive, that that leads to the result of sacrificing the back seat and cargo space. The Paceman is another 3-door SUV among all types of Mini Cooper. Similar to Clubman, this type is also equipped with a 6-speed transmission, and the engine is 1.6L or 2.0L, depending on different models. The engines are efficient which can help users save fuel, and the car has a higher ride height among the whole series.
