About Mercedes-Benz ML250
The Mercedes-Benz ML250 is an SUV that has been produced by Mercedes-Benz since 1997. The third generation debuted in 2011 in Stuttgart. The all-wheel drive SUV ML 250 is powered by a 2.1-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. The engine produces 204 hp. And it is paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Torque is 500 Nm at 1800 rpm. The acceleration time is 9.0 seconds. And fuel consumption on the mixed cycle is 6l/100 km. The Mercedes-Benz ML250 still weighs 5041 pounds on the C/D scale. Unfortunately, the weight loss is not enough to offset the loss of muscle. At 8.3 seconds to 60 mph and 16.3 seconds to the quarter-mile mark, the ML250 shaves about a second off the 7.0-second and 15.4-second times offered by the Mercedes-Benz V-6 models.
An EPA city/highway rating of 22/29 mpg puts the ML250 in competition. 24 mpg was recorded by the ML250 in combined driving, the same figure measured by the V-6 car. Considering the subtraction of two cylinders and 162 pounds, we would expect at least a modest increase in efficiency. What these numbers don't convey, however, is the willing and friendly nature of the 2.1-liter diesel. Smooth and quiet at idle (for a diesel), it has a polished quality. AC steering has never been a key element of the SUV formula, and the ML250 does little to change that fact. There's no doubt that ultra-light steering is appreciated in stop-and-go maneuvers and sharp stop-and-go driving. And even as the wheels get heavier with speed, the feel remains artificial, non-progressive, and unadulterated by nuance. If aggressive inputs are needed, Mercedes-Benz's Airmatic air suspension ($1610) offers the option of being fixed by a sports setting. The ML250 also holds its balance well in standard comfort mode. Based on the taut and silky highway ride it provides, the air suspension will not make drivers regret it.

If the ML250 wears Dunlop Grandtrek 255/50 all-season tires on stylish 19-inch five-spoke AMG wheels ($500), the car will nicely prioritize a quiet ride over full traction and directional pickup. The ML250 takes 176 feet to stop from 70 mph. There is 13 feet less than the Mercedes-Benz ML350 when performing the same task. But slight fading and floppy pedaling occur during repeated stops. Also unchanged from the ML250 is its ability to carry five passengers and a fair amount of cargo in comfort and luxury.
