The Mercedes-Benz ML250 is an SUV that has been produced by Mercedes-Benz since 1997. The third generation debuted in 2011 in Stuttgart. AC steering has never been a key element of the SUV formula, and the ML250 does little to change that fact. There's no doubt that ultra-light steering is appreciated in stop-and-go maneuvers and sharp stop-and-go driving. And even as the wheels get heavier with speed, the feel remains artificial, non-progressive, and unadulterated by nuance. If aggressive inputs are needed, Mercedes-Benz's Airmatic air suspension ($1610) offers the option of being fixed by a sports setting. The ML250 also holds its balance well in standard comfort mode. Based on the taut and silky highway ride it provides, the air suspension will not make drivers regret it.

The ML250 takes 176 feet to stop from 70 mph. There is 13 feet less than the Mercedes-Benz ML350 when performing the same task. But slight fading and floppy pedaling occur during repeated stops. Also unchanged from the ML250 is its ability to carry five passengers and a fair amount of cargo in comfort and luxury.
