About Mercedes-Benz C55 AMG
The Mercedes-Benz C55 AMG is a performance-focused variant of the W203 C-Class. The Benz C55 AMG was introduced in 2005. The Benz C55 AMG is built in Sedan and Wagon (Estate) body styles, although the station wagon was never sold in North America. This AMG-tuned family of cars is powered by Mercedes' M113 5.4 engine. This 5.4L V8 powerplant generates 362hp and 376 lb-ft of torque which is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission. Production of the Mercedes-Benz C55 AMG ended in 2007 when the model series was discontinued.
Powered by a 5.4-liter V-8 engine, the Benz C55 AMG now boasts 362 naturally aspirated horses and 376 pound-feet of torque, increases of 13 and 44, respectively. Mated to an AMG Speedshift five-speed automatic transmission, the V-8 offers up enough grunt to scoot the C55 from 0 to 62 mph in 5.2 seconds, according to Mercedes. The Benz C55 AMG receives the running gear update. MacPherson strut front and multilink rear suspension have 20 percent stiffer springs than standard and gas-charged dampers. The brakes have been tweaked, with larger, vented discs at both ends, drilled at the front. Dynamics are improved, says Mercedes, thanks to a stiffer sport suspension, higher-performance brake system, and upgraded chassis tuning featuring newly tuned ESP.

Aesthetically, the Benz C55 AMG gets a front end with a wider track, 18-inch AMG double-spoke wheels, and an AMG exhaust system with chrome-plated twin tailpipes. The interior receives AMG Nappa leather sports seats and an AMG steering wheel. Electronic stability control and subsidiary systems are tailored to Benz C55 AMG. The cabin features AMG sports seats, power-adjustable, and heated in perforated leather and fake suede. The seat is very comfortable for two and headroom is adequate for those up to 185cm. Boot space can be extended with the 60/40 split-fold rear-seat backrest. It is dynamic and balanced.
