The Mazda 2 is manufactured by Mazda, a Japanese multinational automaker. The vehicles entered production in 2002 and continue to be upgraded at present. It is a subcompact/supermini car. It has replaced the preceding Demio. The first generation of the Mazda 2 was developed upon the B-segment Ford B3 platform. It measured 3925 mm (154.5 in) in length, 1680 mm (66.1 in) in width and1530 mm (60.2 in) in height. It was offered either as various Z-family gasoline engines or diesel 1.4 L MZ-CDTi l4. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual or 40speed automatic transmission.

The second-generation Mazda 2 was unveiled in 2007 after improvement in its parts and accessories. Its high-roof styling was replaced by the more conventional hatchback.
