About Kia Sorento
The Kia Sorento is a body-on-frame compact SUV or a mid-size crossover SUV produced by South Korean automaker Kia since 2002 and has lasted for 5 generations. Kia Sorento is a proud and highly anticipated model by the brand, whose name comes from the Italian word that stands for "car with high-end equipment and magnificent models". With its sporty exterior, comfortable interior, passionate power performance, and world-class standard safety equipment, it has made its mark in the international SUV market.
Introduced in February 2002, the first-generation Kia Sorento was a traditional truck-based body-on-frame Sport Utility Vehicle. All American versions were equipped with dual front airbags and dual side-curtain airbags respectively in the front and rear. Also, an optional four-wheel-drive system with low range was added to the vehicle, improving its off-road ability. There were two options for the transmission, a 5-speed manual or 4- and a 5-speed automatic. The second-generation Kia Sorento was released in South Korea in April 2009 and was for the first time manufactured and sold in the United States. It applied the brand's Tiger Nose grille and was the first vehicle that was offered the Kia UVO.

The third-generation Kia Sorento was first unveiled in South Korea in August 2014 and later in Europe at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, sharing the platform with the third-generation Carnival. Customers can choose between the 5-seater and the 7-seater version. With a longer and lower dimension, the model was 14 percent stronger on its high tensile steel, performing better in the small overlap crash test by IIHS. It faced a facelift in 2018 or 2019. The fourth-generation Kia Sorento was officially unveiled in terms of an array of images on February 17, 2020, because the original plan of debuting at the Geneva Motor Show was canceled. The wheelbase was again extended, together with the overall length. Two types of engines were offered: a hybrid and a traditional gasoline-only one.
In 2020, the fourth-generation Kia Sorento was released in the North American market. It was generally divided into several different trim levels respectively called the LX, S, EX, SX, SX Prestige, and SX Prestige X-Line. The LX and S trim were powered by a naturally-aspirated 2.5L 4-cylinder Smartstream gasoline engine producing 191 hp (194 PS; 142 kW), while the EX, SX, SX Prestige, and the SX Prestige X-Line trim utilized a 2.5L turbocharged Smartstream 4-cylinder gasoline engine producing 281 hp (285 PS; 210 kW). All North American versions were equipped with 8-speed automatic transmission. Also, the hybrid models became available after the initial launch in late 2020. Our parts cover most vehicles.
