The Kia Forte is a small car produced by the South Korean manufacturer Kia since 2008. The first generation Kia Forte was launched in 2008. In North America, the Forte replaces the Kia Spectra. But in many markets, it retains the Cerato name. It is based on the same platform as the Hyundai Avante/Elantra. However, the Elantra has a torsion bar suspension instead of a multi-link suspension in the rear. According to the company, the Kia Forte is aimed at younger buyers who are attracted to the car's sharp design. The Kia Forte car was designed by Tom Kearns and his team at the California design studio. The Kia Design Studio designed the two-door Kia Forte in California. The Korean model went on sale on August 22, 2008. The American model was unveiled at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show.
The company launched the Kia Forte hybrid car for the South Korean market at the 2009 Seoul Motor Show. The Hyundai Elantra LPI Hybrid runs on LPG. It is equipped with an LPG power plant. The LX is the base model. Electronic stability control and side and passenger airbags are standard. The stereo system has four speakers and a Sirius XM satellite radio.
