About Jeep Wrangler

The Jeep Wrangler has been manufactured since 1986 and is in its fourth generation. The latest generation of the Jeep Wrangler JL was introduced in late 2017 and is manufactured at Jeep's Toledo plant. Like the Willys MB and early Jeep CJ models, all Wrangler models continue to feature a separate body and chassis, solid front and rear axles, a pointed front end with wider fenders, a flip-up windshield, and a doorless design. All Jeep Wranglers have steering and brake mounts, and since 1997 the TJ has had front and rear springs instead of the old coil springs. The first Jeep Wrangler resembled the CJ-7. It was based on several new design features. The new vehicle had a wider track, slightly lower ground clearance, a more comfortable ride, and better road holding. Like the CJ, the YJ still had leaf-spring suspension. However, the springs were more expansive, and the first Jeep Wrangler was equipped with side and safety bars. They help improve handling and safety and prevent easy rollover by inexperienced or careless drivers.
Foreign military versions of the Jeep Wrangler were called J8. They were first produced at Egypt's Arab American Vehicles plant. Jeep YJ models were produced at the Brampton assembly plant from 1986 to 1995. And then at the southern assembly plant in Toledo. The main difference between the 1987 and 1995 models was the rectangular headlamps. They were replaced by round headlamps on the TJ and later YK models. In 2006, the company moved Wrangler production to the Toledo plant. In 1987, American Motors Corporation, under the direction of Chrysler's new owner, developed the first generation of the Jeep Wrangler. It had rectangular headlights that differed from the round headlights of its predecessor, the CJ SUV. It also had many important features. It had a hollow body with minor modifications, an independent chassis, the same wheelbase, partial all-wheel drive, and solid suspension axles.

All TJ had suspension instead of leaf springs starting with the Jeep Wrangler TJ. The company launched the third generation of the Jeep Wrangler in 2006 for the 2007 model year. Sales of the new 392 will begin in early 2021. In September 2008, Chrysler executive vice president Tom LaSorda unveiled a longer-range four-door Wrangler. It has a similarly styled City and Country. And it is an electric sports car. The Wrangler can travel 40 miles, while the gasoline engine will provide additional power.
