About Hyundai Genesis Coupe
The Hyundai Genesis Coupe was launched in Korea on October 13, 2008. Hyundai's first RWD sports coupe shares a platform with the Hyundai Genesis Coupe sedan. Following the creation of Genesis Motors as a separate luxury brand, Hyundai Genesis Coupe remained in Hyundai's portfolio. And production was discontinued in 2016. In May 2007, images of a heavily camouflaged prototype of the Genesis surfaced on the Internet. The spy photos suggested that Hyundai's new coupe would be rear-wheel drive. The engine bay images showed the elongated engine layout characteristic of front- and rear-wheel-drive vehicles. It also showed a turbocharged and thermally cooled four-cylinder engine.
The Genesis comes with two engines. The base 2.0T is available with a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission, while the base 3.8 is available with a six-speed manual or automatic. The base 3.8 version has black leather upholstery and Genesis lettering on the door sills. R-Spec models are equipped with 19-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, a Torsen limited-slip differential, a stiffer suspension, Bridgestone Potenza RE050A alloys, and factory-installed front spoilers. These wheels combine the features of the R-spec and Premium/Grand Touring versions. HID headlamps, DRL fog lamps, and rear spoilers are available options. Hyundai launched Genesis with a navigation system in the fall of 2009. The Hyundai Genesis is also sold as Hyundai Genesis R-Spec in some countries. It is available with the 3.8L and 2.0T engines and sportier equipment.

The RM460 is a Hyundai Genesis coupe with a 4.6-liter Hyundai Tau V8 engine developed by Rhys Millen Racing. The engine is behind the cabin and forms a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive platform. Many changes are an increased compression ratio of 11.0:1, an AEM engine management system, and a five-speed Mendeola sequential transmission. The RM500 is a Genesis built by Rhys Millen Racing and powered by a 5.0-liter Tau V8 engine producing 450 hp. In 2009, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe competed in the Formula Drift Championship, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, and some Redline Time Attack races, thanks to the collaboration between Hyundai and driver Rhys Millen. He drives a Red Bull-sponsored car in these events.
