About Hyundai Elantra GT
The Hyundai Elantra GT was another name for the i30 series in North America. It was initially known as the Touring. The vehicle was in the market as the second and third-generation hatchbacks of the i30. Being introduced to the market in 2012, the car was offered in two different body types, the Hyundai Elantra GT and the Sport trim.
The Hyundai Elantra GT was the more basic one. The power parts were given a 2.0L inline 4-cylinder that was able to offer an output of 161 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 150 lb-ft of torque. It was paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The Elantra GT parts were also shared with the Hyundai Elantra sedans.

The Hyundai Elantra GT Sport focused more on performance than the basic model. The standard rear torsion-beam suspension for all other cars was replaced with an independent suspension. The powertrain parts were also more powerful and efficient than the basic trim. It was offered with a 1.6L inline 4-cylinder engine which was much stronger than the basic engine for it was able to climb to 201 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 195 lb-ft at 1500 to 4500 rpm. The transmission parts could be chosen from a 6-speed manual one and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic one.
In 2019, the Sport trim was discontinued and replaced by the N-Line. The new trim looked similar to the Sport trim models but still differed a little bit in styling features. The production lines were shut down in 2020 for the 2021 model year in the US market. Its customers were introduced to its successors from the same brand name.
