About Ford F-250 Super Duty
The Ford F-250 Super Duty is a series of trucks. It was designed as a special variant of Ford's F-Series, which also includes pickup trucks and chassis cabs. It changed the way we think about trucks and, of course, the way we buy them. The brand called its new truck range Super Duty, and it revolutionized the U.S. truck market when it was launched in early 1998. For the first time, the trucks with a payload of ¾ ton or more were assembled on a separate assembly line or even in a separate factory. With a different body, roomier interior, stronger chassis, larger axles and stronger suspensions, the F-250 Super Duty is a user-friendly truck that is also suitable for commercial work.
Ford's F-Series Super Duty began production in early 1998. When the Ford F-250 Super Duty was introduced, it had a GVWR of 20,000 pounds, a maximum payload of 4,930 pounds, and the lineup was available in 44 different configurations. The base parts include a 5.4-liter V8 engine and a 4R100 transmission. Although the F-250 Super Duty trucks had a similar aerodynamic cab to the smaller trucks, they looked very different in front of the windshield. The F-250 Super Duty also has a design that is inspired by Ford's much larger trucks. Optional parts are manual telescoping trailer mirrors to improve aerodynamics over the metal frames.

Ford Super Duty trucks have been upgraded externally and internally for 2005. Externally, parts like a new grille and headlamps, as well as a locking tailgate, were introduced on all trucks. All trucks were equipped with parts like four-wheel disc brakes to cope with the increased payload. For the larger vehicles, 17-inch wheels were standard, while 18-inch wheels were optional parts. The familiar double I-beam front end was still used on the two-wheelers. Internally, a number of new parts were introduced to improve functionality for end-users. In addition to the driver's side glove box, there were other switches on the truck's dashboard.
The second-generation F-250 Super Duty is powered by an all-new 390.5-cubic-inch, 6.4-liter PowerStroke V8 diesel engine with piezoelectric injectors and sequential turbochargers. The interior has been completely redesigned, with a dashboard, steering wheel, instrument panel, door panels and seat covers. The F-250 Super Duty model underwent major exterior changes for 2011, including a new wider front end. It is available with a six-speed automatic transmission, 4x2 or 4x4 wheel configuration and single or double cab.
