The Dodge W100 is a one-tonne truck. The brand kept the names of the previous generation models. D means two-wheel drive, and W means four-wheel drive. These trucks had the same cab, bonnet and cargo area as the two-wheel-drive models. A new 225-inch six-cylinder motor replaced the 251-inch six-cylinder engine used in the Power Wagon.

Externally, the W100 was an improved version of the pick-up truck introduced in 1972. The new model featured larger, inverted taillights, twin rectangular headlights and a squared-off body line.
