After 1980, Dodge trucks were renamed Ram and retained the same basic design until 1994, when a completely redesigned pickup was introduced. Dodge used the D100 name for the first time in 1957, when the company implemented a new vehicle identification system. The letter represented the Series, and the number ranked the vehicles based on truck size. D100 was one of Dodge's first custom trucks, and only 1,500 to 2,000 of them were built, making them a rather rare find in the classic truck market.Dodge D100 was available in two sizes, one with a 108-inch wheelbase and the other with a longer 116-inch wheelbase platform.
