About Dodge Colt

The Dodge Colt was a small car manufactured by the brand between 1971 and 1994. The body styles included 2-door coupe, 2-door hardtop coupe, 4-door sedan and 5-door station wagon. It was based on a traditional one-piece body with a rear-wheel drive, accompanied by McPherson springs at the front and a flexible axle at the rear. The four-speed manual was offered as standard and the three-speed automatic was available as optional. Originally performed in 100 hp, the engine was reduced to 83 hp in 1972 by changing the power measurement from gross to net to comply with SAE. In 1973, the Dodge Colt GT coupe was given new parts including rally bumpers, track wheels and a center console.
