About BMW Z3
The BMW Z3 is a two-seater sports car produced between 1995 and 2002. Roadster and coupé are the two body types that are available for this model. The Z3 is based on the chassis of the E36 but uses the design of the previous E30. It was the first car produced in the Z series. BMW engineers worked on the coupe model in their spare time. The BMW Z3 Coupe uses the same chassis and parts as the Roadster but has a reinforced, sloped body and is 2.7 times stiffer.
From September 1995, the BMW Z3 Roadster was available with a four-cylinder engine at the time of production. Later, in 1996, six-cylinder engines were introduced. A removable hardtop was available as an option. January 1998 saw the launch of the Z3 Coupe, whose unusual side profile earned it critical nicknames such as "clown shoe." The four-cylinder car had parts like the exhaust pipe, and the six-cylinder vehicles had a wider spoiler and a modified front spoiler. The M models had the same wide wings as the six-cylinder models but featured unique parts like the front and rear bumpers, side mirrors and a four-way exhaust system.
