The M6 Gran Coupe is the second most expensive car in the range and represents the best the brand has to offer in terms of performance, style and luxury. It is more practical than the M6 convertible and coupe and more elegant than the M5 sedan. It has the same 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 as those models, but it can be even faster thanks to clever weight loss measures. The M6 Gran Coupe weighs nearly two tons and is a great auto to drive.
The BMW M6 Gran Coupe is equipped with parts like an active M differential that transfers torque from the rear axle to the wheel with the best grip, delivering 552 bhp and an incredible 680 Nm of torque. The system distributes power evenly and ensures that the model is never overloaded. The seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox is fantastic, the shifts are precise, and the engine itself has character. It's smooth, revs up quickly and sounds good between 6,000 and 7,000 rpm. Plus, the exhaust buzzes every time you step on the accelerator. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes just 4.2 seconds. Despite the nose-heavy V8, the BMW M6 Gran Coupe does not suffer from excessive body roll. The wide tires follow the slope, and the car rolls slightly under braking, but the ceramic brakes provide solid stopping power. Tuning options are a bit more complex, but BMW offers independent three-speed settings for the powertrain, dampers and steering, and the dual-clutch box has three speeds. The Sports setting best affects parts like the engine and steering, but damping is best on the Comfort setting, where the BMW M6 Gran Coupe becomes a fairly capable passenger.
