About BMW 750iL
The BMW E38 is the third generation of the BMW 7 Series, produced between 1994 and 2001. The final design of the new 7 Series was approved in February 1991, and it took a further 36 months before production started on 17 February 1994. A German design patent was filed on 27 April 1993, indicating that it was a prototype that had not yet been put into production. Later, on 27 October 1993, patent applications were also filed in the United States. On 18 February 1994, BMW issued a press release on the BMW 7 Series E38 for the 1995 model year. Production of the 750 began in November 1994, and it was introduced in January 1995.
The armoured cars were produced between 2000 and 2001 and were based on the BMW 750iL models. Safety features include an armoured bumper, bulletproof glass and anti-slip tyres. The vehicle is equipped with an intercom system that allows remote communication when closed windows and doors are. A more secure version of the BMW 750iL S is also available in Europe as B6/7. The additional safety equipment makes the car 950 kg heavier than the classic BMW 750iL. An air injection system is also available. It injects air from a cylinder in the boot. The Heckler & Koch MP5K was available in batches of up to three. These were optional.
