About BMW 435i xDrive
The BMW 435i xDrive is a true all-wheel-drive two-door model with BMW's unique turbocharged inline five-cylinder engine. It may seem strange to think of the vehicle developing more than 300 hp as a rear-wheel-drive sports coupe. But in snowy countries, all-wheel drive is a requirement for selling luxury cars. Fortunately, like all BMWs with xDrive, the 435i's torque is distributed to the rear axle, so on dry roads, the coupe behaves just like its two-wheel-drive twin. We measured a coefficient of slip grip of 0.87, and the chassis weight distribution ensures minimal understeer, making it a balanced dancer on winding gravel roads.
For straight-line driving, the optional Hold on-xDrive clutch gives the 435i xDrive more power on acceleration, with 0-60 mph acceleration in 4.5 seconds. In modern BMWs, cars with parts like automatic transmissions are usually faster than those with manual transmissions, and this one is no different. The Dynamic Handling package includes parts like adaptive dampers and BMW's Variable Sport Steering, which alters the steering. It is designed to accelerate gears at low speeds and brake them at high speeds.

Driving the BMW 435i xDrive feels more like a long drive than an exhilarating experience like in previous BMWs. The M Sport Package seats offer plenty of room up front, while rear passengers have more knee room than expected. The engine and gearbox combination is silky smooth, but just when you think the ride can't get any better, parts like the precise electric power steering and stiff M Sport suspension remind you that you're driving a 435i xDrive, so you always know where the wheels are and can steer them in any direction you want.
The level of quality of the BMW 435i xDrive's parts lives up to expectations. There are no creaky materials, beautiful plastics from both an aesthetic and a tactile sense, and quality materials all around, with the possible exception of some of the parts that don't often lie in the line of sight of the tenant.
