The 230i xdrive is responsive. The effort is light at low speeds and properly weighted at fast speeds. Feedback is a bit lacking, but the M steering wheel feels great in the hands. In Sport Plus mode, the stiffer suspension settings deliver all the important information to the driver. And the stability control delivers some excitement. In Comfort or Eco Pro modes, the softer suspension settings and retracted throttle response make the 230i xdrive suitable for everyday driving. The engine start/stop function is responsive. And it requires no prior consideration by the driver.
In terms of comfort, the BMW 230i xdrive also does a good job. Despite the BMW 2 Series' sporting focus, the ride quality can still be adjusted to compliance levels. At least for the front passenger, the feeling is exactly what passengers would expect from a luxury brand. The front sports seats are adjustable for seat angle and length and feature power side cushions. Tall and short drivers alike will find a perfect position. The rear seats are narrow and suitable for children only. The available M Sport adaptive suspension provides the BMW 230i xdrive with perfect performance. Comfort mode admirably eliminates most ruts and bumps. But even in Sports mode, bumps of the 230i xdrive never intrude. There is essentially no wind noise. And road noise never exceeds almost imperceptible levels.
