About Audi 100
The Audi 100 was a mid-size luxury or executive car model manufactured and marketed by the Audi division of the Volkswagen Group. It debuted in 1968 and was discontinued in 1997. The Audi 100 got four generations coded from C1 to C4. During the first two generations, it was provided in the style of a 2-door vehicle. For C2 to C4, a 5-door model was added to the list of choices. The C2 and C3 of the Audi 100 were known as the Audi 5000 products in the North American market during the years from 1978 to 1988.
The Audi 100 had a front-wheel-drive layout. The first model of its kind was given engine parts that could produce a power output of one hundred PS. The model became the company's largest car since its revival in 1965. The assembly lines for the 100, its accessories, and its aftermarket products were at Bavaria, Ingolstadt, and later added an additional line in Lower Saxony, Wolfsburg plant. The Wolfsburg plant was also the place where the first water-cooled car was produced. In 1973, the Audi 100 had a facelift with its exterior and interior accessories, including a smaller squared-off grille, more angular front fenders, and new taillight lens pattern parts. Also, coil springs replaced the rear torsion beam suspension.

In 1976, the second generation of the Audi 100 was released and was given an inline 5-cylinder engine which was first able to offer 100 PS and later 136 PS power output. It was known for providing 6-cylinder power at a 4-cylinder economy. The third generation of the Audi 100 was introduced in 1982. It was given more aerodynamic styling parts and accessories which match the new styles. The body structure parts featured flush windows mounted with pins and also offered a key reduction in aerodynamic drag. The adoption of aerodynamic parts and accessories in the design abled the model to increase fuel efficiency and the power to compete with other models with similar engine sizes in the field of speed.
The fourth generation of the Audi 100 was released in late 1989. The C4 model was a highly revised version of the C3 model. A 2.8L 90-degree SOHC V6 was given to the new vehicle. It was able to provide 172 horsepower. A 2.6L variant version of the engine was later developed and became optional for the customers to choose from. A 2.5L 5-cylinder TDI engine was also on the list for better performance and economic concerns. Not many accessories and design parts were changed during this update. Replacement of the engine parts was the main modification for the automobiles last years before being replaced by the A6 series.
