About Acura RL
The Acura RL is an executive luxury car manufactured by Acura. The model name "RL" stands for "Refined Luxury." It first made its debut in 1996 as a replacement for the Acura Legend. Its production was discontinued in 2012. The model was assembled at the Sayama Plant in Saitama, Japan. There are two generations with 2004 as a cut-off point. The RL is one of the most revered models in the Acura family.
The Acura RL is a mid-size or full-size luxury car in terms of car classification. As for the body style, it is offered in one kind: a 4-door sedan. In the automotive design, it adopts a front-engine and four-wheel-drive layout. The detailed dimensions differ between RLs of different generations. Generally speaking, the second-generation cars are higher, wider but shorter than the previous models. To make the RL look more like an Acura and less like an oversized Honda Accord, the vehicle's redesign features more distinctive components and parts: lower body-side sills, better-looking headlights, and Acura's silver grille.

Produced for over a decade, the RL has undergone a great number of revisions on its accessory and classic parts throughout its production. Among them, the upgrade of the engine parts is of vital importance in that it can greatly improve the output. When the vehicle was first launched, it was powered by a 3.5L V6 engine. It can produce 210 horsepower through a four-speed automatic transmission. And the horsepower was increased to 225 in 2002. After further development, for the second-generation RLs, two powerful engines are available: a 3.5L V6 and a 3.7L V6. The latter can generate up to 300 hp. A 6-speed automatic transmission became available in 2011.
In short, the Acura RL has received much acclaim from the drivers and retailers for its excellent riding performance and reliable safety system. It received a Top Safety Pick designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Also, the RL scored a "Good" on frontal offset, side-impact, and rear crash protection tests organized by IIHS. Given the high quality and complexity of the RL, it is important to purchase OEM Acura RL parts that are identical to the original when you need to get your car repaired.
