About Acura RDX
The Acura RDX is a 5-door luxury SUV model that was released by Acura back in 2006. The model is a compact luxury crossover SUV that shared the same manufacturing platform as Civic and CR-V which were under the same brand, Honda. RDX's own platform was developed by the brand's division alone in 2019 when it welcomed its third generation. The new assembly lines with the new platform were in East Liberty, Ohio, and Guangdong, China. The old assembly lines were at the Marysville Auto Plant in Marysville, Ohio. The RDX was also Acura's first attempt to break into the compact SUV market and it was well-prepared.
The first generation had its debut at the 2006 New York Auto Show. The original concept car model featured itself on Acura's "power plenum" grille and a front-wheel-drive option. A 2.3L K23A1 Turbo was the core of the RDX's engine parts. Together, dual balance shafts and i-VTEC heads were installed with the all-aluminum engine. A 5-speed automatic transmission was also paired with it. The RDX was also the second vehicle of Acura to have the Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure. The ACE body structure was designed to absorb the energy produced by the collision. Besides, standard safety equipment sets were also installed, including six airbags that were arranged 2 in the front, 2 on the front side, and 2 with the side curtain. The seatbelts had pre-tensioners and force limiters to deduce the shock.

The second generation of the RDX was marketed in April 2012 after being revealed at the North American International Auto Show in January. The most significant change of the RDX was the big upgrade in the RDX power system parts as a 3.5L J35Z2 V6 took the role of the core of the RDX powertrain parts. The new one could produce 273 horsepower and 254 lb-ft. The transmission was also upgraded to a 6-speed automatic. Another 3.0L J30Y1 V6 was specially provided for the RDX models in the Chinese market with an output of 263 horsepower. The interior system was given a 5-inch display rear-view backup camera and keyless entry with a push-button start. One can also enjoy music and deliver phone calls with the installed Bluetooth system.
The third generation of the RDX shifted its platform and assembly lines. During the process, an A-Spec trim was installed. This allows the model to have more aggressive modifications, including metal paddle shifters, and larger wheels. The RDX also influenced the interior RDX parts by offering an optional red leather interior with black Alcantara inserts. It is powered by a 2.0L K20C4 engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission, providing 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
